Are flights flying into Ukraine?

Plain English: Ukraine airspace remains closed to all civil flights (since Feb 2022) due to Russian invasion and ongoing conflict.

As of March 2026, there are no commercial passenger flights flying into Ukraine. The Ukrainian airspace (including the FIRs of Kyiv, Lviv, Odesa, Dnipro, and Simferopol) has been completely closed to all civil aviation since the start of the full-scale Russian invasion on February 24, 2022. This closure is due to the extreme risk posed by active combat, missile strikes, and air defense systems. International aviation authorities, including the FAA (USA) and EASA (Europe), have issued strict prohibitions and "do not fly" notices for the entire region. While there have been ongoing discussions about potentially reopening a "humanitarian corridor" or limited flights to the Lviv airport in Western Ukraine under heavy international protection, no such service has been restored for public use. Travelers wishing to enter Ukraine in 2026 must fly into neighboring countries like Poland (Warsaw or Rzeszów), Romania, or Moldova, and then complete their journey using cross-border trains or bus services, which have become the primary lifelines for international movement into and out of the country.
