Are there toilets at Robin Hoods Bay?

There are public toilets in the upper village at the main Station Road carpark (free) and at Bank Top (40p cash only), and in the lower village at the Old Boathouse in the Dock (40p card or cash). As with most beaches there are no litter bins on the beach itself.

If you do not have a parking permit, it can be tempting to drive down to the village to unload, but please be aware most of the village is pedestrianised. So you cannot drive up to most of the holiday accommodation. Also, it comes to a dead end. It's one straight road down and the same road back up.

Driving into the lower village... Please note that the only vehicular access to the lower village is down 'Bay Bank' which is a steep 1:3 road that is narrow and twisting in places. It's one road down and the same road back up!

Its not unusual to spot Minke Whales and Harbour Porpoise when you take a whale spotting trip out from Whitby, or sharing the beach with Oyster Catchers, Cormorants, Herons and other sea birds.
