Are they going to get rid of Aerosmith ride in Disney World?

It was widely speculated that Disney would use the extended closure of Rock 'N' Roller Coaster to either eliminate Aerosmith or at least downplay its role in the ride. That has not happened. Disney's Hollywood Studios has begun a soft relaunch of Rock 'N' Roller Coaster, and it's still very clearly featuring Aerosmith.

As of March 2, 2026, the original Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith at Disney’s Hollywood Studios has officially closed to make way for a major re-theming. After years of rumors and licensing speculation, Disney confirmed that the high-speed indoor coaster would be transformed into Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets, scheduled to debut in the summer of 2026. While the track layout and the iconic 0-to-57 mph launch remain the same, the Aerosmith "studio" pre-show and soundtrack have been replaced by a chaotic and humorous Muppets-themed storyline. Fans of the original will notice that the giant 40-foot electric guitar in the courtyard has received a "psychedelic" makeover, including a gold piano key as a nod to Dr. Teeth. This change marks the end of a 26-year run for the Aerosmith version, aligning the ride with Disney's broader strategy of utilizing its own intellectual property for major attractions.
