Can a single person get a roomette on Amtrak?

Each passenger pays the basic rail (coach) fare and one single fare for the room upgrade. You should book for two and it'll show you the total price for both of you. Definitely make sure you like the other person, because you'll be cozy! Pay railfare once for each person, and pay once for the room like a hotel.

Roomettes have no sink or toilet facilities except on some cars on single level trains. Accessible rooms on single level sleeping cars have the same facilities as bedrooms, above. Accessible rooms on bilevel trains have a toilet and sink only, no shower. Family rooms on bilevel trains have no facilities.

In my opinion, sleeper cars make the ride into a pleasure. So civilized. For me, once I did a room, I'll never do coach overnight again. Daytime only, I do coach, anything overnight, forget it.
