If your dates are not available, you can add Disney Genie + to your tickets one day at a time once you're in the parks and it will NOT affect your theme park reservations.

I recommend keeping the number of tickets linked to a given account to about 10 or fewer. As far as theme park reservations go, it is OK to book multiple reservations to cover all of your party. Let me describe the difference between Disney Genie+ and Individual Lightning Lanes. Disney Genie+ is a magical upgrade to your ticket that allows you to select Lightning Lane entrances at over 40 attractions throughout the theme parks. These Lightning Lane entrances allow you to skip the regular standby line.

Genie Plus is definitely worth it for Magic Kingdom and Hollywood Studios, and if you don't like early starts, you might consider it for Epcot and Animal Kingdom. If you are park hopping, Genie+ is even better value as it maximises the number of rides you have access to.

If you didn't add Genie+ for your entire stay when you purchased your park tickets, the easiest way to get it is to add it on each day of your visit. Until the day of your park reservation, when you try to purchase it on the My Disney Experience app, you'll see that you are not eligible.

The Genie 120-minute rule says that you can make a new reservation at most 2 hours from when you made the last one, and this countdown timer doesn't change if you modify the reservation. If you made it at, say, 11 a.m., then your two hours will be up at 1 p.m. even if you modify the reservation at noon.

And no matter how many theme parks you visit, you can only purchase two Individual Lightning Lane passes per day. In addition, like standard Genie+ rides, you can't buy passes more than once for the same ride.

Genie+ lets you “hold” (stack) as many reservations at once as you'd like. No limits! FastPass+ return windows couldn't overlap. If you had a Peter Pan's Flight reservation with an 11:40 am – 12:40 pm return time, none of your other FastPass+ return times could overlap with that hour at all.

You can purchase Disney Genie + for that upcoming day starting at midnight. Be sure to purchase it before 7 am so you are ready to make your first reservation right at 7 am! Depending on how busy the parks are when you visit, you may not need it for every park every day.
