Can I bring vape into Universal?

At this time, the Park's designated smoking area is closed and tobacco smoking is not permitted in the Park. Please note that e-cigarettes and vaporizers are treated the same as tobacco. Additionally, marijuana is prohibited.

Yes, you are generally allowed to bring a vape or e-cigarette into Universal Studios parks, but you are strictly prohibited from using it inside the parks except in specifically designated smoking areas. When you go through security, your vape device and e-liquid will be scanned; as long as they are not illegal substances (like THC products in certain jurisdictions), they are usually permitted. However, Universal has become increasingly restrictive with its smoking policy in 2026. Most designated smoking areas have been moved to locations outside the park gates or to very tucked-away corners of the "CityWalk" area. If you are caught vaping in a queue, on a ride, or in any non-smoking area of the park, you can be asked to leave without a refund. Additionally, you should be mindful of the "no-glass" policy for most theme parks; if your e-liquid is in a large glass bottle, it might be confiscated. To avoid issues, keep your device in your pocket or bag while inside the themed lands and wait until you reach a marked smoking section to use it.
