As of May 1, 2025, United Airlines has strictly ended the practice of transferring "one-time" United Club passes to other people. These passes are now digitally linked to the MileagePlus account of the primary cardholder or member who earned them and can no longer be "screen-shotted" or sold on secondary markets like eBay. To use a pass, the primary member or a registered "Authorized User" of the qualifying credit card must be present. If you have "Authorized Users" on your Chase United credit card, they can use the passes independently, but "friends or random travelers" can generally only enter if they are accompanying the member as a guest. United implemented this "non-transferable" rule to combat overcrowding in their lounges and to shut down the rampant "black market" of pass reselling. If you are looking to help a friend in 2026, the only official way is to be at the airport with them; attempting to use a "gifted" pass from an unknown source will likely result in the pass being denied at the scanner.
