Can I ride the monorail for fun?

Definitely can ride the monorail whenever you would like as long as it's open and running. One recommendation I would give is to check the time for Epcot Forever. You can time it right to take the Epcot monorail from the transportation and ticket center and go over Epcot and by the lagoon during the show.

Whether they are of the straddle-beam or suspended variety, modern monorail technology makes derailment virtually impossible. As monorail is elevated, accidents with surface traffic are impossible.
