Can my 11 year old go to Circle C Carnival?

Circle C Welcome to the ultimate hot spot for guests ages 12 to 14.

No, an 11-year-old is technically too young for Circle C on a Carnival cruise, as the program is strictly designed for young teens aged 12 to 14. Carnival Cruise Line is very firm about their age groupings to ensure that activities are socially and developmentally appropriate for the kids involved. Instead, your 11-year-old belongs in the Camp Ocean program, specifically in the "Sharks" group (ages 9 to 11). Camp Ocean offers a wide variety of supervised activities like scavenger hunts, sports, and themed parties that are perfect for that "tween" age. While it might be tempting to try and "age up" so they can hang out with older siblings or friends in Circle C, the counselors generally do not allow exceptions. However, the good news is that many of the high-energy amenities on the ship, such as the WaterWorks water slides, the SkyRide, and the Bolt roller coaster, are available to all kids regardless of their youth program assignment, as long as they meet the height and weight requirements.

Based on our experience, we'd say that most children are ready for summer camp by the age of 12 or 13. At this point, they are in school year 6 or 7 and have had enough structured learning time. We think it's important to give them some more freedom before sending them off into the wild world of pre-tweenhood!
