Can you be late to Tron boarding group?

Once your boarding group is called, you have 60 minutes to scan in at the attraction's entrance. In my experience, late arrivals are not permitted. There is a second opportunity to join the virtual queue for TRON Lightcycle / Run at 1:00 p.m. each day.

The term Boarding Group is used by Disney to designate the groups of people throughout the day that will ride the attraction. I can't speak to the average wait time, but if it's outside the attraction entrance, you're looking at 30 minutes at the very least. If the Lightning Lane is backed up, virtual queue return wait times of 60-90 minutes are entirely plausible, as priority is given to paid Lightning Lane users.
