At Rainbow Springs State Park, policies regarding coolers are strict to protect the pristine spring run. You cannot bring coolers or any food/drink in disposable containers (such as plastic bags, styrofoam, or paper sacks) specifically when tubing or paddling on the river. However, you can bring a cooler to the designated picnic areas near the headsprings entrance, provided it remains in the picnic area and is not taken down to the water's edge or on a vessel. Alcohol is strictly prohibited throughout the park and on the river. Because the park frequently reaches capacity by mid-morning on weekends in 2026, it is advised to arrive before 10:00 AM if you plan to secure a picnic table for your cooler-based lunch.
