Yes, you can absolutely purchase Disney "MagicBands" (specifically the newer MagicBand+ version) at almost any major merchandise location within the Disney theme parks and resort hotels. At Walt Disney World in Florida, you will find them at huge stores like "Emporium" in Magic Kingdom or "World of Disney" in Disney Springs, as well as smaller kiosks near the park entrances. At Disneyland in California, they are available at "World of Disney" in Downtown Disney and various shops throughout both parks. Once you purchase a band, you can immediately link it to your "My Disney Experience" or "Disneyland" app by tapping it against your phone (using NFC technology). While Disney no longer provides complimentary MagicBands to resort guests (a policy that ended in 2021), they remain a very popular purchase for their convenience in entering parks, scanning into Lightning Lanes, and linking PhotoPass photos. The newer MagicBand+ also features interactive haptic vibrations and lights that sync with fireworks shows and "Bounty Hunter" games in Galaxy's Edge, making them as much a souvenir as a functional tool.

You can use your phone. Create a Magic Mobile pass within the My Disney Experience app. As long as you're using your phone to only scan in YOURSELF (meaning not you AND the other members of your party), then it should be fine. It might be slower than using a MagicBand, but it still works.
