Can you go swimming at Disney World?

Swimming at Walt Disney World is one of our favorite things to do on a Walt Disney World vacation! You will often find us splashing around during a mid-day break, having an evening swim or even enjoying the attractions at the Disney Water Parks all year round.

Feature or main pool hours are 10 am until 10 pm or 11 pm daily, depending upon the season. (Expect warmer months to see longer hours.) Leisure or quiet pools are once again open 24 hours per day. As always, operating hours are subject to change without notice (mostly due to weather).

It gets really hot in Orlando in July/August. It's in the 90s, and the humidity makes it worse. If you drink a ton of water and wear a lot of sunscreen, you could probably go to Disney. My suggestion is to do Splash Mountain at some point in the middle of the day if you're at Magic Kingdom.

American Adventure Pavilion: Rounding the back of Epcot's World Showcase is a perfect getaway from the blazing heat. Sit on the marble tile floors under the rotunda in the American Adventure Pavilion. Enjoy the Voices of Liberty while the well-conditioned air blows across you.

Summertime is the worst season to plan a trip to the area – that's when the state's heat and humidity are borderline unbearable and hotels take advantage of the school break to drive up room rates.

Temperatures are at their coolest — often as low as 50 degrees — in January. (Yes, it can get chilly in Florida!) But while this may limit some activities, like visiting your resort's pool or one of Disney's water parks, it does make for a more comfortable time in the theme parks.

What is this? The show must go on, and even when it is rainy, Disney World is open. Now, of course if Disney does happen to close for a weather event (like a hurricane) they will issue refunds then. But, if it is just a rainy day at Disney, the parks will remain open and no rain checks or refunds will be given.

In general, Disney World is a 365 day a year operation. It never closes, even for rain, with basically one exception. Hurricanes. Even then it doesn't always close for hurricanes.
