Can you meet characters at Blizzard Beach?

Disney's Blizzard Beach and Disney's Typhoon Lagoon are two wonderful places to enjoy during a Walt Disney World Resort vacation! You can cool off in the water and enjoy a slower pace. While Mickey and Minnie are not usually found at these parks, you can find other characters.

Where Blizzard Beach excels more than Typhoon Lagoon is in its slide and raft ride lineup. Blizzard Beach inarguably has better slides and raft rides than Typhoon Lagoon. Its lineup is much more diverse, with slides ranging from family friendly racers to the intense (and scary even for adults like me!) Summit Plummet.

It's action-oriented, with the emphasis on slides and thrills. It features over 17 slides, a wave pool, an area for pre-teens, and an area especially for little tikes. The water is heated to 80 degrees at Blizzard Beach.

Both of the Disney water parks are totally great for kids, but Blizzard Beach has more specifically for kids. While you could call the kiddie play areas—Ketchakiddee and Tike's Peak—equal, Blizzard Beach has a large area dedicated to pre-teens called Ski Patrol Training Camp.

Rhonda, you are allowed to wear water shoes at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon. For most all attractions there, you'll even be able to wear them down the water slides. Do make sure they are true water shoes, however, as flip flops are not permitted on the water slides themselves.
