Can you pay for things with MagicBand Plus?

If you are familiar with MagicBand+ at Walt Disney World, you know it can be used to make purchases and pay for dining at the resort in Florida. Unfortunately, MagicBand+ does not have the same capabilities here at the Disneyland Resort.

Yes, you can use MagicBand+ to pay for food and merchandise at Walt Disney World, but only if you are a guest staying at an official Disney Resort hotel. The MagicBand+ itself does not "store" money; instead, it is linked to your "My Disney Experience" account, which is connected to your hotel room's charging privileges. When you tap your band at a payment terminal, the cost is charged to the credit card you have on file for your room. If you are a "day guest" not staying at a Disney resort, you cannot use the band for payments; you must use a standard credit card, cash, or a digital wallet like Apple Pay. In 2026, the MagicBand+ remains a highly convenient "all-in-one" tool for resort guests, serving as their park ticket, hotel room key, and "wallet" throughout the Disney property. It is important to set a security PIN in the app to prevent unauthorized charges in case your band is lost or stolen.
