You can use your MagicBand or MagicBand+ to pay for food, merchandise, and services at Walt Disney World, but only if you are staying at a Disney Resort hotel. The MagicBand itself does not store money or have a direct link to a credit card; instead, it acts as a "key" to your hotel room account. When you "tap" your band to pay, the charge is billed to your resort folio, which is then settled using the credit card you provided at check-in. To enable this, you must set up a PIN in the My Disney Experience app or at the front desk for security. If you are a "Day Guest" (not staying on-site), your MagicBand can still be used for park entry, Lightning Lane access, and linking PhotoPass photos, but it cannot be used for payments. For these guests, Disney recommends using "MagicMobile" via an iPhone or Apple Watch, or traditional contactless payment methods like Apple Pay, Google Pay, or a physical credit card, which are accepted at almost every "Quick Service" and retail location throughout the resort.
