South Padre Island beach And you can swim year-round. The weather was warm and balmy, even in December. I enjoyed many early morning walks and runs along the beach, often catching a gorgeous sunrise. South Padre's beach is narrower than some, but still great for sunbathing, playing, swimming, etc.
