Do you provide towels, bathrobes, or slippers? Our two types of entry tickets—Comfort and Premium—include the use of a towel. However, the Premium ticket also includes the use of a bathrobe. If you have a Comfort ticket and would like a bathrobe, you can rent them for ISK 1500 each.
Depending on whether or not you want to dine at the Blue Lagoon and how many spa treatments you want to experience, you should stay for between two and four hours. There is actually a luxurious hotel onsite too, so it is possible to stay overnight to truly indulge.
The Blue Lagoon water has high levels of silica. Silica is not harmful to hair. However, if you get your hair wet from the water, it can become stiff and difficult to manage. We highly recommend you apply conditioner to your hair and leave it in while you bathe.
While these are great for your skin, they can leave your hair feeling dry and matted. To minimize these potential effects, we recommend that you avoid immersing your hair in the water for too long and that you rinse your hair with fresh water after exiting the lagoon.
Do you shower after the Blue Lagoon? Yes, you should shower before and after your stay at the lagoon. Guests are required to shower, without their swimsuit, prior to using the geothermal spa. Simply use the showers and soaps available in the changing rooms.
If you book the Premium or Luxury packages, then your entrance also includes a bathrobe. If you have your own towel (or bathrobe), you are welcome to bring it to the Blue Lagoon to use. However, we recommend just using the free towel provided as otherwise you will have wet towels to take home with you.
The Blue Lagoon does not allow any skinny dipping. You will have to bring along your swimsuit in order to enter both the water and the saunas. However, there aren't any rules about the type of swimsuit you can bring.

It is recommended that you leave all your jewelry and watches in the locker and the water might cause some damage to them. After having fun with the locker, you will need to shower before going into the lagoon. It is compulsory to shower and wash with soap.
We recommend that you remove any jewelry (rings, necklaces, bracelets, etc.)before entering the lagoon. This will ensure that you don't lose your items and that they don't get damaged by geothermal seawater which has high levels of silica, algae, and minerals.
It is best not to wear jewelry in the water as the silica, algae, minerals can accumulate in the jewelry and be difficult to remove. Either lock jewelry in your locker or keep it in the hotel safe. As the temperature is very warm, it is recommended to drink water before, during, and after your soak in the Blue Lagoon.
Space can be extremely limited in a suitcase, so you may wonder whether some of your other clothing items can double in a pinch. Generally, the answer is no. Most lagoons and pools require bathing suits and will not allow shorts, sports bras, leggings, etc., to be worn instead of bathing suits.
