Can you use debit card for bus?

Similarly, credit cards, debit cards and mobile payments are also accepted on buses.

How it works...
  1. Ask your driver for the ticket of your choice when you board the bus.
  2. Tell the driver that you'd like to pay with contactless.
  3. Place your card or device on the card reader on the ticket machine - it's shown with a bright blue sticker.

That will depend on what transit system you are travelling on. You will need to tap on and off on GO Transit and UP Express. Other transit agencies that accept tap to pay with credit may not require a tap off, please check with your transit agency before you travel.

If the time between touching in at the start and touching out at the end of your journey is more than the maximum journey time limit, you'll be charged two maximum pay as you go fares. A single maximum fare is: up to £9.40 in Zones 1-9. up to £26.00 beyond Zone 9, including on the Heathrow Express.
