Passengers may transfer between terminals by walking or riding AirTrain, SFO's automated terminal transit system. International flights depart from SFO's International Terminal. Check-in desks are located on the Departures Level of the Main Hall.

Passengers can connect to certain terminals without exiting and re-entering security. Post-security connectors are available between: International Terminal A Gates (Gates A1 through A15) and Harvey Milk Terminal 1 (Gates B1 through B27)
Pedestrian walkways connect Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 at San Diego International Airport. Pedestrian bridges and crosswalks connect the passenger terminals to transportation islands and adjacent parking lots in front of the terminals.

Domestic Terminals 1, 2, and 3 are connected to each other and you can easily walk between them or take moving sidewalks and escalators. The walk from Terminal 1 to Terminal 2 takes about 10 minutes, and from Terminal 1 to Terminal 3 can take up to 20 minutes if you're walking from farthest gate to farthest gate.
SFO's 24-hour, year-round AirTrain people mover has station departures about every four minutes, and takes about five minutes to travel between each terminal.
