Can you walk through Gringotts without riding the ride?

Yes you can walk through without riding. There is so much to see and do in both parks for Harry Potter. They have so many little shops you can go in and check out what they have especially if you want to buy a wand. The only problem we had was a friend of mine could not get on the rides because she was a little to big.

We highly recommend getting a Universal Express Pass. There is also a Single Riders line available for both rides. And again, there is a special area to enter if you just want to walk through the castle without waiting in the full ride line.

There are locker rides and metal detector rides. Gringotts is just a locker one. A cell phone in a secure pocket is ok. Bags aren't very.

Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts is a 3D motion simulator ride that includes short roller coaster sequences. The carts mildly spin between screens, as well. *Spoiler alert: There is a small drop at the beginning, but you can't see how far down it goes, which could trigger motion sickness.

There are some mild spins and drops in the dark, but you wear 3D glasses the whole time and they don't fall off, so it's not that rough, and it's less scary and height-restrictive than the Forbidden Journey ride at Hogsmeade. Strategy: Take the test seat out front seriously; if you don't fit, you shouldn't ride.
