Can you wear a backpack on rides at Disney?

You can bring your bag or backpack on almost every single ride at Disney Parks. With the exception of a couple attractions, every ride at Disney will have a small pouch for you to stow your backpack, or space at your feet.

At Walt Disney World, you can wear or take your backpack on almost every single ride. Unlike Universal Studios, which requires lockers for most thrill rides, Disney's ride vehicles are designed with "floor space" or "elastic pouches" specifically for guest bags. On high-speed attractions like Rock 'n' Roller Coaster or Expedition Everest, you simply place the straps around your leg or tuck the bag firmly between your feet on the floor. There are only a few exceptions in 2026: on TRON Lightcycle / Run, you must place large bags in free, double-sided lockers before boarding, though there is a tiny compartment on the bike for a phone or glasses. For everything else—from the drops of Tower of Terror to the loops of Guardians of the Galaxy—your bag stays with you. This makes Disney one of the most "commuter-friendly" theme park experiences, as you never have to worry about the "locker shuffle" every time you want to experience an attraction.
