Spring and Winter are less visited seasons at Dollywood. Generally, you'll find Dollywood is most crowded in summer and fall. While going to Dollywood in the low season is ideal, visiting on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday during summer is the best way to dodge crowds and long lines.
I typically squeeze in my trips to Dollywood in one day, and I've enjoyed every one of them. The one time I took two days to visit Dollywood, I enjoyed it even more! Some would say three days is even better! For some of us, however, we are burdened by time constraints and all we have is one day at Dollywood.
Dollywood does not permit visitors to bring food or drinks into the park, although attendees are welcome to leave to eat elsewhere and return that same day. Otherwise, a variety of excellent options for dining and snacks are available onsite.

Free Water StationsDollywood always offers guests free ice water at any culinary location to make sure everyone stays hydrated while having fun. We've installed water bottle refill stations around the park so you can fill up your own water bottle without waiting in line at a food location!
Not only is Dollywood less crowded in the spring, but the weather is great, too. March through May have mild temperatures in the 60s and 70s and reduced humidity. This creates a pleasant environment for many entertaining outdoor activities for the whole family.
Standard ParkingHowever, parking is FREE if you purchase a Dollywood Gold or Diamond Season Pass. Initial parking fee is non-refundable for Gold and Diamond Season Passholders. Free parking applies for visits after Gold or Diamond Season Passes are purchased.
Tickets and airfareFor people aged 10 to 61, a one-day Dollywood ticket costs $89. Kids aged 3 and under can enter the park for free, while those aged 4 to 9, plus seniors 62 and over, get a discount of 10 silver dollars, making their tickets $79.
Backpacks are allowed in Dollywood, and actually a backpack or a cinch bag are probably the best bags to bring if you must bring something. Just remember to keep the bag as small as possible so that it will not get too heavy and so it will fit into a locker should you need to leave the bag.
VISIT IN THE OFF-SEASONTo avoid traffic (and packed attractions), visit in winter or early spring. Try to avoid spring break weeks or popular periods like Memorial Day weekend.
As for the rush through the gate, we often see crowds from around 10 a.m. until about noon. The secret is to arrive early so you can be in line before that rush. Or, wait until early afternoon so you can capitalize on playtime while a lot of folks are looking for lunch.
