Although the Disneyland Resort gets its share of unique popcorn buckets and collectible drink sippers, refillable mugs are not offered here on the West Coast. These are a feature unique to Walt Disney World and discounted refills are not offered when these mugs are brought to the Disneyland Resort.

When you buy your first mug at your first Disney hotel, it will be activated for a 14-day use from purchase. After that, you have a great souvenir, but it will no longer work at the drink stations. You may need to get another mug after your first fortnight there.

Once purchased the mugs are activated for 14-days allowing Guests to partake in refills for that specific length of time. While it would be a lovely addition to have a reactivation fee for “returning” refillable mugs, it, unfortunately, is not.

Your mug is good for the length of your stay. When returning, you will need to purchase a new mug. Your previous mug cannot be reused nor can it be reprogrammed for the new visit. I still sometimes bring my old mugs along just to keep some ice water in the room, but it will not work with the soft drink dispensers.

Does Magic Kingdom (or Epcot, Hollywood Studios, or Animal Kingdom) have refillable mugs? The Disney World theme parks do not have any refillable mugs, and your resort refillable mugs will not work in the parks. Both water parks (Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon) do, however, have a refillable mug option.
