Do you get free drinks in United Economy Plus?

Service: Flyers with Premium Plus tickets receive upgraded dining options on select long-haul international flights, plus a complimentary hot meal and alcohol on premium transcontinental domestic routes. Meanwhile, Economy Plus flyers must pay for premium drinks on domestic flights.

In 2026, the standard policy for United Economy Plus passengers on domestic flights does not typically include complimentary alcoholic beverages. While Economy Plus offers significantly more legroom (up to 37 inches) and a more favorable seat location at the front of the cabin, the "soft product" amenities like food and alcoholic drinks remain largely the same as standard Economy. However, there are notable exceptions based on frequent flyer status and route. For instance, United Premier 1K members are entitled to one free alcoholic drink and one snack item when seated in the Economy cabin (including Economy Plus) on any flight. Additionally, on many long-haul international flights, beer and wine are complimentary for all Economy and Economy Plus passengers as part of the standard meal service. On domestic routes, while non-alcoholic beverages like sodas, juices, and Starbucks coffee are free for everyone, spirits and premium wines still require a separate purchase unless you hold high-tier elite status.
