Do you go through security at Disney Springs?

While it's not a theme park, Disney Springs is a large Guest area that is part of the Walt Disney World Resort. It has a formal security process and perimeter established, requiring all Guests to encounter a full security screening and potential bag checks prior to entry.

Walt Disney World Resort takes a comprehensive approach to security across our property that includes some measures that are visible and others that are not. This includes the presence of uniformed police officers, specially trained hazard detection canines, security screening technology, bag checks and other measures.

Downtown Disney is considered a secure area, which means you must go through a security checkpoint. The rules for Downtown Disney are the same as they are for the Parks of the Disneyland Resort. That means you must follow all of the rules of what you can and can't bring into Disneyland.
