For the vast majority of domestic-to-domestic connections at Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT) in 2026, you do not have to go through TSA security again. All five concourses (A, B, C, D, and E) are connected "airside" behind the security perimeter, meaning you can simply walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate. The only major exception is if you are connecting FROM an international flight (unless you arrived from a US Preclearance airport like Dublin or Toronto). In this case, you must clear US Customs and Border Protection, collect your checked bags, and then pass through a dedicated TSA screening checkpoint to re-enter the secure terminal area. If you are connecting TO an international flight from a domestic one, you remain behind security and do not need a second screening. CLT is a very walkable hub, but given its "one big terminal" layout, walking from the end of Concourse A to the end of Concourse E can take 15–20 minutes, so checking your gate numbers early is wise.
