Do you have to pay at Butser Hill car park?

We have one main car park on Butser Hill and 7 different car parks on the forest side. Forest and Butser car parks are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Our automatic number plate recognition (ANPR) system means you'll only pay for the time you've spent at the park.

From the top of Butser Hill, the highest point on the South Downs, down to the Visitor Centre with its shop and cafe, the park makes for a great day out. Queen Elizabeth Country Park is free to enter but car parking fees apply.

The walk begins at the car park of the Queen Elizabeth Country Park, Hampshire, postcode PO8 0QE (pay-and-display £9 for the whole day in summer). If the main car park is full, you can park on the huge grassy space beyond the Visitor Centre or continue further to one of the additional car parks.
