Do you have to pay for Delta Sky Priority?

The services offered by SkyPriority are not available for purchase. SkyPriority is a special travel service that can be utilized by customers with First and Business Class tickets and SkyTeam ElitePlus members regardless of their cabin of service.

You cannot directly "buy" Delta Sky Priority as a standalone service; it is an earned benefit reserved for premium passengers and elite frequent flyers. To access the "Priority" check-in, security, and boarding lanes, you must either hold a First Class, Delta One, or Premium Select ticket, or have achieved Gold, Platinum, or Diamond Medallion status within the SkyMiles program. SkyTeam Elite Plus members also receive these benefits. If you are not an elite flyer, the closest you can get to "buying" a similar experience is by holding a Delta SkyMiles® Gold or Platinum American Express Card, which provides "Zone 5" priority boarding and a free checked bag, though this is not the full "Sky Priority" suite. Additionally, Delta occasionally offers a "Trip Extra" called "Priority Boarding" during the checkout process for a small fee (usually $15–$30), but this only grants you earlier boarding and does not include the expedited security or check-in counters.
