Do you need a locker at Disney?

No. Guests are allowed to bring personal belongings with them on all rides at Walt Disney World except Tron. However, there are many rides at Universal where you are not allowed to bring anything, even small purses, on the ride with you. You are required to use a free locker at several locations.

Whether you need a locker depends on your "Park Strategy," but for most guests in 2026, they are not a necessity. Almost all Disney rides allow you to bring your bag on the attraction with you (placing it at your feet or in a pocket). However, lockers are highly recommended if you are carrying bulky items like winter coats for a chilly morning, a change of clothes for water rides, or a heavy DSLR camera. They are also useful if you plan to buy large souvenirs early in the day. Standard lockers at Walt Disney World cost $10–$12 per day, with jumbo lockers available at Magic Kingdom and EPCOT for $15. If you are staying at a Disney Resort, remember that you can have souvenirs sent back to your hotel for free (or to the front of the park for pick-up), which can often save you the cost and hassle of renting a locker entirely.
