Carnival Cruise Line does still feature lobster on its menus, though the policy has evolved in recent years to manage costs and sustainability. Typically, on cruises of six nights or longer, a complimentary lobster tail is served in the Main Dining Room during one of the "Cruise Elegant" (formal) nights. For shorter cruises of five nights or less, lobster is generally not offered for free in the main dining room, though it is usually available for an upcharge or as a featured item in the Steakhouse (a specialty dining venue). Even on the longer sailings where it is complimentary, there is now often a limit—typically two lobster tails per person—with a small fee for any additional tails requested. Additionally, Carnival has introduced "premium" seafood nights where items like steamed lobster or surf-and-turf can be purchased in the casual Lido marketplace. While the days of "unlimited" free lobster are largely gone, it remains a hallmark of the formal night experience for those on week-long Caribbean or Mexican Riviera itineraries.
