Does Disney have security check?

Walt Disney World Resort takes a comprehensive approach to security across our property that includes some measures that are visible and others that are not. This includes the presence of uniformed police officers, specially trained hazard detection canines, security screening technology, bag checks and other measures.

Yes, every Disney theme park globally—including Walt Disney World, Disneyland Resort, Disneyland Paris, Tokyo Disney, Hong Kong Disneyland, and Shanghai Disney—maintains a multi-layered security screening process. As of 2026, the primary screening involves walking through advanced "mass screening" sensors (like those from Evolv Technology) that can detect weapons and prohibited items inside bags without requiring guests to stop and unzip every pocket. If the system flags an item, a Security Cast Member will perform a secondary manual bag check. In addition to these checkpoints, Disney employs a large team of uniformed and plainclothes security officers, K-9 units trained in hazard detection, and extensive 24/7 camera surveillance. Prohibited items include firearms, self-defense sprays, glass containers (except for small baby food jars), and loose ice (reusable ice packs are preferred). These measures are designed to be as unobtrusive as possible while ensuring a safe environment for families.
