Does Disney save your fingerprint?

Ticket Tag does not store fingerprints. If you do not want to use Ticket Tag, you can simply carry and show a photo ID that matches the name identified with your ticket. Contact Guest Relations for assistance with this process.

Technically, Disney does not store an image of your fingerprint. When you scan your finger at the park entrance—a process Disney calls "Ticket Tag"—the system uses an optical scanner to identify unique points on your finger. This data is instantly converted into a complex numerical code (an encrypted token) that is linked to your specific admission ticket. Once this number is generated, the scanned image of the fingerprint is immediately discarded. Disney uses this system primarily to prevent ticket fraud and ensure that multi-day passes are not shared between different people. While the numerical representation of your biometrics remains in their system for the duration of your ticket's validity, it cannot be used to recreate your actual fingerprint. If you have privacy concerns, Disney offers an alternative: you can opt out of the scan by visiting Guest Relations, where they will instead ask to see a valid government-issued photo ID every time you enter the park.

People Also Ask

According to Disney's privacy policy, “Ticket Tag does not store fingerprints.” While that statement is true, they do sell your fingerprints, which is a shady way around the legal blurb. While we were unable to put an exact value to what Disney makes from selling each fingerprint, we estimate it at $100 per person.
