Does MagicBand plus turn off?

Power On and Off to Reset: Press and hold the button on the back of the band for about 6 seconds, until it buzzes twice, to power the device off. If the power-off is successful, the LED light will turn red and rotate once in reverse.

Yes, unlike the original MagicBands which were "always on" until their internal batteries died after several years, the newer MagicBand+ features a power button that allows it to be turned off manually to conserve battery life. To turn off your MagicBand+, you must press and hold the small button located on the back of the center puck for approximately 6 seconds. The band will vibrate (haptic buzz) twice, and the LED lights will glow red and rotate once in reverse to indicate it is powering down. This is particularly useful for travelers between Disney trips or when the band is not in use for several days. To turn it back on, simply press and hold the same button for one second; a solid green light will flash to indicate it is active. It is important to note that even when the "smart" features (like haptic vibrations and lights) are off or the battery is drained, the basic RFID functionality—such as entering your hotel room or the theme parks—will still work, similar to a standard plastic room key.

The rechargeable battery comes with a 6-inch USB charging cable. The battery can last an estimated 1 to 3 days, but it is recommended to charge the band overnight for the most optimal usage. To conserve your band's battery life, simply turn it off—then easily power it back on when you want to access all its features.
