Yes you can walk through without riding. There is so much to see and do in both parks for Harry Potter. They have so many little shops you can go in and check out what they have especially if you want to buy a wand. The only problem we had was a friend of mine could not get on the rides because she was a little to big.

There are locker rides and metal detector rides. Gringotts is just a locker one. A cell phone in a secure pocket is ok. Bags aren't very.

Not at all scary but it's as much a ride through Hagrids world as it is a coaster. It's definitely worth doing and a mixture of Slinky, Everest (though not as intense) and 13 at Alton Towers. A good ride which, if you can persuade yourself to go on, I think you'll love. See you all real soon.
