Does the monorail go directly to Magic Kingdom from the contemporary?

The Resort Monorail runs a continuous loop from the Transportation and Ticket Center to the Polynesian resort, the Grand Floridian resort, the Magic Kingdom, and the Contemporary resort, in that order. The Epcot Monorail runs back and forth between the Transportation and Ticket Center and Epcot.

Even though Disney's Contemporary Resort is the closest hotel to Magic Kingdom, the monorail has to make a full run from this point. Yes, absolutely! You are welcome to board the Disney monorail at any stop and ride as long as you like. Of course, we recommend taking a look at the resorts along the monorail line to enjoy some extra Disney exploring.

The Epcot Monorail runs from 8am until 2 hours after regular hours park closing. The Express Monorail schedule begins 30 minutes prior to Magic Kingdom opening until 1 hour after regular hours park closing. The Resort Monorail runs from 7am until 1 hour after regular hours park closing at the Magic Kingdom.

Most of the time the monorail is faster. Unless you catch the boat just as it is ready to leave. We have stayed here a few times the monorail is the easy way to get there with no delays.

Magic Kingdom Fireworks are at 9pm on most nights. If there is a special event like Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party the fireworks may be earlier, or may not be scheduled for regular guests visiting that day.
