Does the Skyliner run during extended evening hours?

On a night when EPCOT or Disney's Hollywood Studios offers Extended Evening Hours, the Skyliner will close 1 hour AFTER those parks close for the Extended Evening Hours event. So if the Extended Evening Hours run until 11PM at EPCOT, then the Skyliner shouldn't close until 12AM.

As of 2026, the Disney Skyliner generally operates during Extended Evening Hours, but with a very specific and often confusing limitation. On nights when EPCOT or Hollywood Studios offers these extra hours (typically for Deluxe Resort guests), the Skyliner usually continues running until one hour after the event ends. However, there is a catch: the service is often restricted to the EPCOT line. Specifically, the Skyliner may only offer transportation between the International Gateway at EPCOT and Disney’s Riviera Resort. The main hub at Caribbean Beach and the lines connecting to Pop Century and Art of Animation often close at their "standard" time (90 minutes after regular park close). This means if you are staying at Pop Century and staying late for Extended Evening Hours at EPCOT, you might find the Skyliner closed for your specific route and will need to use Disney’s complimentary bus service instead. Always check the "My Disney Experience" app or the signage at the Skyliner stations on the day of the event to confirm the exact shutdown times for each leg of the journey.

How early does the Skyliner open? The operating hours for the gondolas tends to vary depending on what time the parks are opening and closing, but you can typically find them starting from around 7:30 am to 8:30 a.m. and going until 10 or 11 p.m. Note: Disney does expand the hours during busy times of the year.

For those closures, Cast Members informed us that the Skyliner was undergoing routine maintenance. So if that routine continues, we'll probably see another closure in late January 2024.

This probably seems obvious, but the weather can and does affect the Skyliner and how it operates. When it's raining hard or storming, it can close down completely. This is especially true if there is lightning!

In general, you can expect the Skyliner to begin running about an hour before EPCOT and Disney's Hollywood Studios open, and to stop running about an hour after those parks close, but there is significant variability in this.

Usually, the Skyliner begins running about 90 minutes prior to the scheduled theme park opening time, and continues to transport Guests up to 90 minutes after theme park closing. During busier times of the year, bus service from Disney's Art of Animation Resort to Disney's Hollywood Studios will also be available.

Anyone can ride the Skyliner; you don't have to be staying at a Disney Resort. Probably the easiest way to catch a ride on the Skyliner (if you aren't staying at a resort with a station or if you are staying offsite) is to board at either Hollywood Studios or Epcot.

Once you board the correct gondola and this ride takes off, your next stop is Epcot! If there are no lines for the Disney Skyliner, then I estimate it will take about 20 minutes to go from Pop Century to Epcot.
