The center offers comfortable chairs, books, magazines, television and refreshments. Internet and phones are available free of charge to help service members connect with loved ones while away from home. Whether traveling to a deployed location or coming home, military ID-card holders are always welcome.
Smokes, but not booze. USO snack bars sold cigarettes to troops, but didn't sell liquor. Today, alcohol and tobacco are forbidden, but all snacks at USO locations are free to troops and their families.
USO airport lounges are made to provide comfort to the military community on their journeys, no matter where they're going. At these lounges, which can be located before or after TSA security checkpoints, service members can find everything from free snacks and coffee to a comfy chair to take a quick nap.
Other methods of military airport lounge access include: United Club: Free access to active duty military members and their families taking a United operated flight on the same day. Present your military ID (or be in uniform), boarding pass, and sponsoring documentation. American Airlines Admirals Club: Free access.
In most airport lounges, you're allowed to stay for 2-3 hours before departure or after landing. Some also offer extended stays for upwards of 5 hours. That said, these time limits are rarely enforced.
You can stay overnight and sleep at 24-hour airport lounges, as long as they don't have any rules on how long you stay. Many airport lounges close at night or limit access to just a few hours before your flight.
