The United Club Infinite Card does not provide direct, complimentary "space-available" upgrades to first or business class simply for holding the card on paid tickets. However, it does offer a significant path toward upgrades through several secondary benefits. First, it grants Complimentary Premier Upgrades on award tickets for the primary cardholder if they have MileagePlus Premier status; usually, award tickets are ineligible for upgrades unless you hold a specific United credit card. Second, the card is a powerful tool for earning Premier Qualifying Points (PQP)—currently earning 1 PQP for every $15 spent—which helps you reach higher elite status tiers (like Gold or Platinum) where complimentary upgrades are a standard perk. Additionally, the card provides Premier Access, which includes priority check-in and boarding, and the miles earned from the high 4x spend on United purchases can be redeemed directly for MileagePlus Upgrade Awards.
