Has Magic Kingdom ever sold alcohol?

It's only in the past few years that alcohol has been served at Magic Kingdom, so many people don't know the ins and outs of where to find it. Unlike the other three parks at Walt Disney World, you won't find alcohol openly served or carried in the park.

For nearly 41 years, the Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World was entirely "dry" (alcohol-free), adhering to Walt Disney's original vision for a family-centered park. This changed in 2012 with the opening of the Be Our Guest Restaurant, which began serving beer and wine during dinner service only. By late 2016, the park expanded alcohol sales to all table-service restaurants, and as of 2026, you can find beer, wine, and cocktails at most sit-down dining locations like Cinderella's Royal Table and Liberty Tree Tavern. However, unlike EPCOT or Disney’s Hollywood Studios, the Magic Kingdom still prohibits "grab-and-go" alcohol; you cannot buy a beer at a kiosk and walk around the park with it. Alcohol remains restricted to table-service restaurants only, preserving a slightly more conservative atmosphere compared to other parks in the resort.
