How can I get Hilton Gold status?

Make at least 20 stays or stay 40 nights within the calendar year at Hilton Honors-participating hotels to achieve Hilton Honors Gold status. This can include rollover nights from the year before.

As of 2026, Hilton Honors Gold status can be achieved through three primary "organic" paths or via strategic credit card partnerships. To earn it through hotel activity, you must either complete 25 nights in a calendar year, finish 15 separate stays, or reach an annual "Eligible Spend" of $6,000 USD (note that the previous "Base Points" requirement was replaced by this spend-based metric in early 2026). A much faster route is through the American Express Hilton Honors Surpass® or the The Platinum Card®, both of which grant complimentary Gold status as a cardholder benefit. Additionally, Hilton frequently runs "Fast Track" promotions for employees of certain large corporations, often requiring just 8 to 10 nights within a 90-day period to keep the status. Gold status is widely considered the "sweet spot" of the program because it includes space-available room upgrades, an 80% bonus on points earned, and the highly valued Food & Beverage credit (in the US) or continental breakfast (abroad).
