Yes, at most larger stations, the checked baggage arrives in a separate room. Allow 15-30 minutes for pickup - although at some (like NYP), they say 45 minutes. At some smaller stations, you retrieve your bag(s) right from the luggage cart outside.

Seating accommodations If you want to get up and stretch your legs, there's plenty of room to walk around, with restrooms conveniently located in every car. On shorter train journeys, Amtrak's Coach Class seats provide a comfortable place to relax and enjoy the view.

Checked Baggage Screening The majority of checked baggage is screened without the need for a physical bag search. Inspection Notices: TSA may inspect your checked baggage during the screening process. If your property is physically inspected, TSA will place a notice of baggage inspection inside your bag.
