How do I get Qantas Silver status?

To reach Qantas Lifetime Silver, you'll have to notch up 7,000 Qantas Status Credits over the years. You can check on your progress towards Lifetime Silver via the Qantas website. That's no easy feat. After all, 'regular' Qantas Silver is earned with 300 Status Credits and retained with 250 Status Credits.

To achieve Qantas Silver status, you must earn 300 Status Credits within a single membership year. Additionally, at least four of your flight segments must be on Qantas, QantasLink, or Jetstar marketed flights. Status Credits are distinct from Frequent Flyer points and are earned based on the distance flown and the fare class of your ticket. For example, a few flexible business class trips or many discount economy flights will help you reach the goal. Once you attain Silver, you only need 250 Status Credits to retain it the following year. Benefits of this tier include a complimentary lounge invitation, priority check-in, and a higher checked baggage allowance on most Qantas-operated flights.
