How do you clean MagicBands?

As even new MagicBand can have dust or dirt on the surface, we recommend wiping them with rubbing alcohol prior to applying the Skin.

To clean your Disney MagicBand or MagicBand+, use a soft, lint-free cloth slightly dampened with water and a mild soap. Since the bands are made of high-quality TPU (thermoplastic polyurethane) and are designed to be waterproof for swimming and rain, they are quite durable. For stubborn grime or sunscreen buildup, you can use a soft-bristled toothbrush to gently scrub the textured areas. Avoid using harsh chemicals, bleach, or abrasive cleaners, as these can degrade the material or damage the decorative "skin" and puck electronics. If you have a MagicBand+, be careful not to submerge it for extended periods while charging, and ensure the charging contacts on the back are dry and free of debris before plugging it in to maintain the longevity of the rechargeable internal battery.

I am happy to tell you that MagicBands are absolutely waterproof! We wear ours to the pool, to the Disney Water Parks, on attractions where you get wet and in the Florida rain. There is no need to worry about keeping them covered or dry as they can be completely submerged without any damage.

They run off of a small battery inside the band. Disney says the batteries are designed to last for 2 years. I have read of batteries lasting for up to five years. Since a Disney Magic Band is just a link to your My Disney Experience account, it can be used for many trips until the battery no longer works.

Just make sure they're active. One thing thats a slight bummer is cannot use them to buy points at resort arcades but thats life. They will work for purchases and tapping into rides. But they won't link the ride photos that don't have a touch point.

However, even if the long-range battery is no longer working, your MagicBand should still work for any Mickey to Mickey touchpoints, such as entrance tapstyles, Lightning Lane entrances, unlocking the door to your Disney Resort Hotel room, or point of sale terminals when charging purchases to your hotel room folio.
