How do you get into Disneyland without a reservation?

Under current (2022) Disney rules, guests cannot enter any Disney theme parks at ANYTIME, whether at peak hours or not, without both a valid park pass AND a park reservation.



In 2026, it is virtually impossible to enter Disneyland Park or Disney California Adventure without a pre-existing theme park reservation. The "Reservation System" is a mandatory gatekeeping tool that Disney uses to manage daily capacity. To enter, every guest (aged 3+) must have both a valid admission ticket and a reservation for that specific date. However, there is a "Park Hopper" workaround: if you have a Park Hopper ticket and a reservation for the other park (e.g., California Adventure), you can enter Disneyland after 11:00 AM without a specific Disneyland reservation, provided the park has not reached its secondary capacity limit. If you find yourself at the gates without one, your only option is to check the Disneyland app immediately for "same-day" availability, which occasionally pops up if other guests cancel. For 2026 travelers, the "Golden Rule" is to book your reservation as soon as you buy your ticket, as popular dates often sell out weeks in advance.
