How does the EPCOT after hours work?

Overview of Disney After Hours at EPCOT. Disney After Hours is a three-hour, separately ticketed event that allows guests to stick around after normal park hours with limited crowds. That means you'll encounter little-to-no lines while you wait for rides, character meet-and-greets and other experiences at the parks.

Guests will need valid admission and a theme park reservation for the same park on the same day to experience extended evening hours–or, Guests may experience extended evening hours if they have a ticket or annual pass with the Park Hopper option and first enter the park where they made their reservation.

I am happy to report, Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind is available via the stand-by line during this event. You will not need to join the virtual queue. I would anticipate wait times to be much shorter later into the evening.

On a night when EPCOT or Disney's Hollywood Studios offers Extended Evening Hours, the Skyliner will close 1 hour AFTER those parks close for the Extended Evening Hours event. So if the Extended Evening Hours run until 11PM at EPCOT, then the Skyliner shouldn't close until 12AM.

Eating all of the Disney snacks! I spoke to an awesome Cast Member who confirmed that the snack carts will indeed be open at EPCOT during the Extended Evening Theme Park Hours. However, the food vendors and restaurants will be closed during this time.

So when should you visit for the lowest crowds, generally? Go on a Wednesday! Fewer guests head to EPCOT mid-week and you can hopefully then walk up to the festival booths without having to wait in long lines. As a bonus tip — make sure to visit the festival booths early in the day.

The Disney Skyliner station at EPCOT is located at the International Gateway entrance, which is located at the back of the theme park in World Showcase. Unfortunately, there's no way to walk between these two stations without walking through EPCOT.

When you take the Disney Skyliner to EPCOT, you will exit the Disney Skyliner at the EPCOT International Gateway. The EPCOT International Gateway is located in EPCOT'S World Showcase area. If you are planning to board the monorail from EPCOT, then you would need to pass through EPCOT and exit the front entrance.

Guests are limited to one ride per day on Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind using the Virtual Queue during regular park hours. This allows as many people as possible an opportunity to ride. However, it is possible to get into the Virtual Queue and also buy an Individual Lightning Lane to ride a second time.
