How early is early entry at Disney?

Early Entry at the Disneyland Resort Guests who are checked in and staying at one of the Disneyland Resort hotels can enter Disneyland Park or Disney California Adventure Park 30 minutes before regular park opening to enjoy select attractions, dining and shopping locations.

As of early 2026, "Early Theme Park Entry" at Walt Disney World allows guests of Disney Resort hotels (and select other partner hotels) to enter any of the four theme parks 30 minutes before the official public opening time every single day. This benefit is vital for riding high-demand attractions like Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind with shorter waits. However, for Disneyland Resort in California, the policy underwent a major change starting January 5, 2026: the daily 30-minute Early Entry was discontinued and replaced by a system where resort guests receive one complimentary "Lightning Lane" pass per stay. Therefore, "how early" you can enter depends on the coast: in Florida, you still get a 30-minute head start every day, whereas in California, that specific morning perk has been traded for a different type of bypass for your vacation.
