How early should I get to Pearl Harbor?

You want to be able to get the most out of your Passport to Pearl Harbor tickets and to do that, we recommend that you plan to arrive fairly early in the morning, as close to the 7:00 AM opening time as possible.

Pearl Harbor is open daily from 7 am to 5 pm. The USS Arizona Memorial is open from 7:30 am to 3 pm. If you have not arranged a tour in advance, it is recommended that you arrive prior to 7 am in order to get a ticket to see the USS Arizona Memorial.

There is no entry fee for the Pearl Harbor Visitor Center, and no ticket is required to see the museums. The USS Arizona Memorial program can be accessed by reservation or through our first come first served standby line. The walk in first come first served ticket distribution system has been discontinued.

For civilian visitors, there is no official dress code at Pearl Harbor. When you're dressing for the day, however, keep in mind that you're in a place of honor and historical importance. Dress comfortably, but not so much that you risk offending anyone visiting Pearl Harbor.

Pearl Harbor in Honolulu is 11 miles or a 25-minute drive from Waikiki Beach by car. Travelers can get to Pearl Harbor from our Waikiki Beach hotel by taking Highway 201 and following signs to the Pearl Harbor Historic Site and Visitor Center.

This tour is about 5.5 hours in length. Because Ko'olina is on the other side of Pearl Harbor from most Oahu hotels (in Waikiki), the regular Pearl Harbor tours do not pick up there.

But the majority of the ship is seen today only by those who dive to see it. Divers do not go inside the ship out of respect for the fallen sailors and marines but are able to see what's on the inside of the ship through a remotely operated vehicle.
