Departure times listed on the schedule refer to the time that vessels pull away from the dock. Passengers should arrive a minimum of 10 minutes before scheduled departures. Passengers must be on board 2 minutes prior to departure.
The island's town center is very walkable and close to the ferry terminal. If you're journeying from Seattle, make your way to Colman Dock's pedestrian overpass and snag a cheaper passenger ticket. You won't have to worry about misbehaving drivers or whether there's room for your car on the ferry.
The Bainbridge Island ferry is a must if you are visiting Seattle. We went to the island for the day, had a wonderful lunch and wandered around downtown. It was a clear sunny day and we had a breath taking view of Mount Olympia (Olympus) from the ferry.
Bainbridge Island may be a ferry ride away from Seattle Southside, but I promise you it is definitely worth it to take a break from the hustle and bustle of the city – there's no better place to do just that than on Bainbridge Island with its scenery, beaches, parks and trails, attractions and wineries!
How to purchase Bremerton Ferry tickets. Tickets for the Bremerton Ferry can be purchased online or in person at the Bremerton ferry terminal. Reservations are not required for this route and you do not have to designate a time for your crossing.
Bremerton is good for a longer ride (an hour) and some good old fashioned military history (old war ship tour, free navy museum, etc).. Bainbridge island is quick and has more cutesy, artsy shops and stuffs. Bremerton is longer and ferries are less frequent.
If you are running late and are likely to miss your ferry, we suggest proceeding to the port to see if the ferry company will allow you to change the ticket to a different day or departure time. Keep in mind that if you do miss your ferry, the tickets are non-refundable.
Usually, the ticket that you purchase is only valid for the crossing you have booked. Some ferry companies allow you to change your departure time at the port, but this usually only happens if multiple ferry sailings are available per day.
