How far of a walk is it to Windsor Castle from train station?

Travelling by train There are two main train stations in Windsor, both within a 10-minute walk of the castle.

Windsor is served by two main train stations, and both are exceptionally close to Windsor Castle, making it one of the most accessible historic sites in the UK. Windsor & Eton Central is the closest station; it is literally across the street from the castle walls, and the walk is approximately 2 to 3 minutes (about 200 meters) through the station's shopping arcade. If you arrive at Windsor & Eton Riverside, the walk is slightly longer but still very manageable at approximately 5 to 10 minutes (about 500 meters). From Riverside, you simply walk up the hill (Thames Street) toward the castle. Because both stations are located in the heart of the town, you are surrounded by shops and cafes immediately upon arrival. For most visitors, even those with limited mobility, the journey from the train to the castle gates is straightforward and well-signposted, requiring no secondary transport or long treks through the town center.
